Run batch file as Administrator Windows 7 Home Premium. Hello. Can anyone help explain a bit of a mystery please ? I created a simple batch. BTW UAC is set to the second notch down. When I double click on the batch file on the desktop (tried it as a shortcut too) I get the access denied error. If. I open the properties and go to the compatibility tab the Run As Adminstrator check box is greyed out. If I right click the icon and select Run As Administrator it runs just fine. Can anyone please explain the logic of denying me the option to check to Run. As Admin box, but allowing me the right click menu option to do the same ? I'm sure there are some subtleties I'm missing here ? Runas + password + encryption., because some programs are missing administrator rights to run. In some installation scenarios Windows System File Protection will.
